W. Jayasiri (born 1 May 1947[citation needed]) is a Sri Lankan actor, script writer and lyricist.[1] He started his career in 1973 from the movie Dahakin Ekak which was directed and produced by Meril Albert.[citation needed] He is known for his roles in Tani Tatuwen Piyabanna (2002), Death on a Noble Day (2014) and Me Mage Sandai (2000).[2] W. Jayasiri was born in Hirimbura, Galle

and was educated at Vidyaloka College, Galle.[citation needed] He won a Presidential Film Award for the Best Supporting Actor for his role in the movie Duwata Mawaka Misa in 1997.[citation needed]
